Parafango Therapy is a treatment technique used to
decrease the appearance and occurrence of cellulite. Cellulite is the term
used to describe the painful nodules that appear in the dermal connective
tissue, causing the peculiar undulation of the skin commonly known as
orange peel skin. The thigh is the body area most susceptible to cellulite
accumulation and the targeted area for the actions of most cellulite
treatment products.
Cellulite forms easier in women than in men due to the inherent
differences in their connective tissue structure. Males have a more
diffused arrangement of connective tissue while women seem to have an
almost mattress-like construction at the interface between the dermis and
the hyperdermis, with minute parallel strands attaching the skin to the
underlying structure. Where these strands anchor the skin, the
characteristic pockets of "orange peel skin" appear. Such fat
deposits can appear even in people of normal weight or those who appear
lean, especially on the thighs and hips.
Factors that influence cellulite formation include:
-
Hereditary factors
-
Hormone dysfunctions
-
Venous or lymphatic circulation problems
-
Connective tissue weakness
-
Premature skin aging
-
Bad habits (poor nutrition, alcohol, postures)
The remineralization properties of the warm Parafango stimulates the
lymphatic flow in our body to draw out the toxins from around the fat
cells while the wrapping technique compresses the skin and compacts the
soft fatty tissue making it more firm and tight. The treatment generally
takes about an hour and a blanket may be used to prolong the heating
benefits of the Parafango. Spa disposable undergarments are worn
during the entire process. Your modesty is always respected.
